The health benefits of cabbage include treatment of constipation, stomach ulcers, headache, excess weight, skin disorders, eczema, jaundice, scurvy, rheumatism, arthritis, gout, eye disorders, heart diseases, ageing, and Alzheimer’s disease.
Did you know that the cheap, humble looking and so widely used cabbage could work miracles? Cabbage is a leafy vegetable of Brassica family, round or oval in shape, consisting of soft light green or whitish inner leaves covered with harder and dark green outer leaves. It is widely used throughout the world, eaten cooked or raw as salad and is a very popular vegetable.
Deficiency of Vitamin C: Scurvy, which is recognized by spongy and bleeding gums, cracked lip corners etc., very weak immune system, frequent infections and cold, ageing, depression etc.
Remedy: Cabbage is abundant is Vitamin C. You will be surprised to know that it is richer in vitamin C than the famous oranges. Vitamin C, being one of the best anti oxidant, reduces free radicals in your body which are the basic causes of ageing. It also helps repairing the wear and tears in the body. Thus it is very helpful in treating ulcers, certain cancers, depressions, for strengthening immune system and fighting against cough and cold, healing of wounds and damaged tissues, proper functioning of nervous system and thereby help curing Alzheimer’s disease etc.

This detoxifying effect of cabbage is due to the presence of vitamin C and sulphur.

I love being out side and now that the weather is nice I try to spend as much time out as I can. I started walking this morning and before long, I was at my Starbucks. It is almost 5 miles from my house. I can’t believe I walked that far. But the sun was shinning and I was in the mood to be out. It is in a wonderful spot. I get to watch all the shoppers and people running from here and there. I often wish there was a book store around here.
We have almost left the art of reading an actual book behind. I don’t know if that is good or bad…..it does save a lot of trees.
Blogging has become one of favorite pastimes. I have so much going on in my head sometimes and this is a wonderful outlet for my thoughts. Plus, I get to hear back from others and what they think. I am always amazed how many people think as I do about things. This thing called the internet has given people like me a way to connect to people I would never have the time to meet, moreover, they don’t live in the same state I live in.
While walking today, I had so many thoughts about things around me. One thing I noticed, we don’t have many flowers here. It is sad, when I think of the South, I think of bright colors. Something you don’t get int he North too much. I use to visit New York city a lot this time of year but as you may know, there isn’t a lot of color. There are things I miss about there. The fast pace of life, all the wonderful shops. I use to love this one place where I would go and have coffee. Cafe Lalo. I was just about the best spot on a Saturday night. I also loved to shop at Zabars. They sold gourmet and kosher foods. There are so many things I miss but those two come to mind.
Funny how just sitting in a coffee shop can bring up so many wonderful memories.
Saving is a big deal in my home and if you are like me and you shop at the Commissary, here is a way to get coupons each month in the mail.
I’ve been working on a juice fast for about a month now and still I have these overwhelming craving for food. Things I loved to eat but are not good for me. Like Pizza, ice cream, soda, cake, and yes, cookies.
I have about three juices drinks a day and I really try to have 4 glasses of water. I find when I drink the water I don’t get the craving for the things I should not be eating. I also am a snacker. I love snacks but they have done me wrong over the years. hahahaha
I try things like dried fruit now and nuts and raisins. Most days I am good but most days I am not and I fail. The failures are beginning to make me want to give up and say I can’t do this. I was even contemplating surgery for the weight lose. *sigh*
Surgery would be the last result for me, if any at all. You know there is all this talk about the Gastric Bypass and the Bariatric surgeries. They have been success rates but there are also the side effects. All I want is to lose all this weight and keep it off once and for all.
I feel like I am in a battle for my life and I am losing it day by day. It matters not how much I say I will not eat this or that I always end up with it at the end of the day. I am at a lost and don’t know where to turn for some real help. I am beginning to think I may have an eating disorder.

Over the years, I’ve brought more products for my skin, hair, and yes, even my nails. Most of them end up in the trash. Some have been in the closet for years unused. And then there are the few that I really liked and use often. Here are some of my fav’s in the bunch.
Let’s start with hair. I also use keratin but I did not have any more to take a picture.
Next is my body wash.
And now for the face cleanser and body lotions
These are just a few of the products I use. I don’t promote any of them, we all have our favorites. What are yours?
