ACU’s (Need I say more?) hahahaha

Well, it’s that old saying, be careful what you wish for…..or in my case pray for.  I am so happy to have my husband home once again.  Now that he is here I have the joy of washing his uniforms.  The ACU’s, as they are called, can get very icky to say the least.

Washing them is not easy.  You see, they have Velcro on them and in the washing machine and dryer, it tends to stick to everything.  I don’t know a way around this and I find I hate washing them.  Taking them to the cleaners is best but very costly.  They charge 8 bucks each uniform.

How do you deal with your husbands/wife ACU’s?

My “New” Days……..

Everyone has things they do int he morning to get the day started.  Well, I am no different.  I have worship and then make my husband’s lunch and breakfast at 0430 each morning.  I than get him to work by 0630 and that is when the fun begins.  Well, not really.  hahahahaha

I come home and wash dishes, clean the house, make our bed and yes, clean the tub.  You see, each day my husband has to PT.  This is where the issue starts.  He comes in and takes a shower.  Now, what ever they PT in, be it grass, dirt, etc.  that is left in the tub.  Yuck!

Before I can take my shower, I must clean it.  Then there is the endless list of earns I’ve made for myself the night before that must get completed by the end of the day.  Now mind you, all this and I still have to go to school, do homework, cook dinner, wash, and anything else that comes up in the day with his phone calls.

One might think I get upset or tired, but no.  I enjoy it all.  It is hectic and I am tried by the end of the day but I have such a sense of accomplishment when I am done.  I would not change my life for the world at this point.  I am loving the Army life and enjoy so much of the time I have with my family.

Our son has not been here yet.  He will come in October and again in December.  The court really took away most of our time with him.  He will spend the summer with us but even that is shorter.  They really believe in punishment of the father for the rest of his life.  But that is another post all in itself.
How do you spend your day?

Starting Over!

Well, today is my fresh start.  I am juicing but I am going to approach it in a different way.  I am going to take this week to wean myself off solid food.  This week I will drink two juices: one for breakfast and one for dinner.  I will eat a small lunch and have one snack that consists of a salad.  Next week I will remove the meal and the snack, and then on week three, no food at all.  What do you think of this plan?

This morning I had a wonderful glass of juice followed by a hot lemon drink.  I feel full and very happy.  My juice this morning started with:

It was very good, but I did miss the lime.  I put all this in my blender (Ninja) and strained it once it was done.  Here is what I did:

Before straining the juice.

I did not have cheese cloth so I used a paper towel

It worked! I was able to get two full glasses out of the juice, and it tasted good.

After that, I had a glass of warm lemon juice.  I made this by putting a whole lemon in the blender (before washing) and 8 cups of hot water.  Have a glass in the morning and before bed.  Here are some of the benefits of this drink:

  • boots your immune system
  • pH balance
  • helps with weight loss
  • gentle and natural diuretic
  • aids in digestion
  • clears the skin
  • hydrates the lymph system

Can’t beat that for just a glass of warm lemon drink.

Update on our missing items (Fort Benning)

So, as you may know we were missing some things from our move.  I contacted the moving company (Ellis Moving and Storage) and spoke with someone two weeks ago that told me to call her today.  I called only to have her tell me they did not find our things and NOW I could file a claim.  WTH?  I thought that is what I did two weeks ago.

So now, I have to wait for an email from the company telling me how to file a claim and then wait “who knows how long” to know if they will pay for the missing items.

Our First Dinner

It was nice to have most of the unpacking done so we could sit down to a nice dinner.  I made spaghetti and meat balls (veggie) with spinach, garlic bread and salad.

I didn’t know I would love being an Army wife so much. I am happier than I’ve ever been.  My husband treats me so well and makes life very happy for me here.  Living on post seems to agree with us.  Fort Benning is nice, and there is a lot for us to do.

House Guest

We had just moved into our new house and just barely unpacked our stuff when we got a call from family telling us they are coming to visit.  How do your prepare for house guests when you don’t even have the house set for you to live in it yet?

I love entertaining and I love having family over, but I like to be ready for them when they arrive.  Our family is so excited to see us and our new {post} housing.  I love living here, but it is too soon for me to have company.  So the question is, what do I do?
