How I make my Challah

How to make challah

2 teaspoons of yeast

2 teaspoons of sugar

1 cup warm water

Mix this in a bowl and set aside

In a large mixing bowl

4 cups of flour

3 eggs

¼ cup of sugar

¼ cup or oil

1 teaspoon of salt

Add yeast mixture and knead until smooth

Put a tablespoon of oil in a bowl and roll dough into a ball.  Place this into the bowl and cover with a cloth or plastic bag.  Let rise for about 4 hours.  Shape into challah.

 

*this makes two loaves*

  1. Hi! I just don’t use sugar, just honey: it’s healther and gives the hallah a taste of flower or forest, just choose the right honey for the meny you are preparing! Enjoy! Bye bye! Mirjam.
