Weight update

I am sorry to say that things have not been going so well.  I had a lot of baking to do and it was super hard to resist eating.

I sold most of what I baked, but the things I did not sell, like cookies and cakes, were sitting here on my counter.  I ate about 5 cookies and two slices of the cake.  This all happened yesterday.  Well, today I am starting again.  The sun came up to welcome me to a new chance to get it right.  I started the day by getting rid of all the sweets.  I also got a bag of juicing carrots from Publix.  I have ginger, carrots, and green apple juice today.

I am good with this juicing during the day.  It is at night when I am home with nothing to do that I mess up.  I did not eat the junk food all day yesterday, but around 11pm I jumped in.  I think the best thing for me to do is to stop staying up late.  The only problem I have with that is my husband gets off work around 11pm and I have to pick him up most nights.  This means I come home and make him something to eat.  This man can eat, but he gains no weight.  The other issue I have is he never seems to be willing/able to say NO to me.  When I make him something after work it is hard for me not to get something as well.

I’ve got to find a way to beat this urge to eat late at night.  On top of that, once he goes to bed I stay up and eat some more.  This eating will last until well into the morning hours.  I often eat things like cake, crackers and things that are quick to make and eat.  Man, I hope to have this day go well.  I just need to have one full day of success and then I will see the goal.

Aprons, Hand towels, and Brooms

I love watching old movies. In fact, I spend a lot of time watching them.  In many of these movies the wife is always perfect.  She keeps the house clean, the kids are always well taken care of, and her breakfast, lunch and dinner are always cooking or done.  Well, that’s TV, right?

I remember watching my mom as a child and she seemed to have it all under control.  My dad went to work and she cleaned up after breakfast.  By noon my lunch was ready.  My home was clean and I always remember watching her clean.  The house always seemed to smell of dinner cooking after lunch was done.  My mom even baked bread.  Man, I get tired just thinking about it all.

I wonder what happened to women today?  Like our parents or grandparents, we have the same amount of the time in a day to get things done.  With 2 kids and your husband at work all day, why does it seem impossible to have dinner ready, the house clean, and the kids bathed and in bed all by 8pm?

How did our parents do it?  I sat down one day and made a schedule for my day.  It went something like this:

  1. 5am breakfast
  2. 6am clean up the kitchen and make lunch for husband
  3. 7am take husband to work and go to the grocery store
  4. 10am make my lunch/wash clothes/clean bathrooms
  5. 12 noon eat lunch and clean up afterward
  6. 1300 start dinner/complete washing and sweep floors
  7. 1500 complete dinner/clean the kitchen
  8. 1700 pick up husband from work
  9. 1800 have dinner and clean up dinner dishes
  10. 2000 time with husband
  11. 2200 bedtime

Wow. I get everything done.  Now lets get started.  This is how the day really went:

  1. 5am turned off alarm and went back to sleep
  2. 6am took husband to work and returned to bed
  3. 9am got something to eat and put a load of clothes in washer
  4. 10 am watched TV/facebooked
  5. 1200 ate some lunch
  6. 1300 more TV/facebook
  7. 1500 cleaned the kitchen/facebook
  8. 1700 picked up husband
  9. 1900 made dinner and ate/facebook
  10. 2100 cleaned up the kitchen
  11. 2200 more TV/facebook
  12. 2300 bed

Can you see the problem with today’s women versus the women of the 40’s?

Update (weight)

As you know I’ve been working on losing weight.  Well, I started cooking baked goods to make a little extra money for the family.  I forgot that I was not supposed to eat the baked good.  oppps.

I went to my doctor’s appointment and got on the hated scale.  I hold my breath, and wait for the digital number to post……here it comes….what the hell, I gained 17 pounds since August…crying.

I am now a very big girl unhappy.  I was so upset that when I came home I fasted for 24 hours.  Now I am getting this done before the summer.  There is no way I am going to be at 300 pounds this summer.  I need to lose 120 pounds to be at my goal of 130.  I will post my YOUTUBE again and keep updates on how things are going.  I am going to get back to juicing again starting next week.  For 60 days starting December 23, I will drink nothing but juice.  Well I may have dinner on Christmas with the family but that will be it.  At the end of 61 days (since I’ll eat Christmas dinner) lol I will post my new and old weight.

I’ve tried this in the past and it did not work.  I cheated so many times on that diet.  Well, now I have an insensitive I did not have before.  My first video will post on Sunday, December 23 at 3pm.  I will make one each day showing my juice and the changes.

Another day, Another………

So today I am feeling a bit upset.  Today was payday for my husband and we have a lot pulling on our pay right now.  Trying to complete school has really put a dent in our income.  I am budgeting a home on little to nothing each month and now even less than last month which was impossible to do.  My dear, sweet husband looks at me and says, “I know you will pull this off,you do so well every month”…….

I need some help in how to budget a family of 3 on less than 1,000.00 a month.  This amount is for food, supplies for the home, gas for the car, and any other curve balls that come up this month.  On top of all that it is the holiday season and I have family coming to spend Christmas with us……what a mess.

I’ve gotten all the gifts, the decorations are done.  All I need is the Christmas dinner, which will cost more than $200.00.  I’m working with limited funds.  I need God to come and give me a miracle to work it all out.

My love/hate relationship with my stove

I love that my stove is “self cleaning” but I hate that it heats up to the point the house smells of it.  When it is done, I still have to wipe it out and I also have to put up the loud noise of the microwave when it is nearing the end of the cleaning cycle.

It is easier than what my mom use to do.  She would buy that oven cleaning spray, Easy Off, that stuck.  That mess could kill a cow.  🙂  I suppose I shouldn’t complain, I don’t have to deal with that smell.

All in all, it is better than having to get down on my hands and knees and scrub the stove.

The Morning Wake-Up

My husband and I love our morning coffee. He likes to try new things while I am good with the old staples. We got this new coffee he saw at the Commissary for $3.98. It was good and I enjoyed it as did he. What bothered me was that for the price we only got 4 cops out of the can.

Land O Lakes Cappuccino

Land O Lakes Cappuccino

This brand is made by Land O Lakes.  I’ve always known them for their butter and I love their butter.  The Cappuccino was really good and the flavors come through nicely.  The only issue I have is the size of the can.  The instructions say you must place 3 tablespoons of the mix in boiling water.  This will make an 8 ounce cup of coffee.  Well, my husband drinks about 16 ounces in the morning alone and the can only makes about 4 8 ounce cups so you can see how face this was all gone.  For $3.98 I would like to have a few cups of coffee.  Other than that, it was good and I would buy it again.  My recommendation:  Three thumbs up!

What are the advantages of living on post

often I’ve been asked the question “what are the advantages of living on post”? Well I can give you a list of reasons why I like living on post doesn’t mean that they are reasons that would work for you but here’s my list:

1. You don’t have to worry about your water bill electric
2. Your husband is closer to work so travel time is lessened and that means less gas
3. If PT is 4 o’clock in the morning he’s able to get there without having to leave home at 3 o’clock in the morning
5. You’re closer to everything that’s happening on post
5. You live around people who experiencing the same thing to experience
6. I personally feel safe for living on post
7. I make friends easier and meet a lot of women who have children like me so my child has playmates
