Well, I just watched the new season of Army Wives on Lifetime and I must say it was worth the wait. I have not stop crying. One of the character that I most identified with died on the show and watching the memorial service is hard. Saying goodbye to Claudia Joy is almost like saying goodbye to a good friend I never had. She seemed to embody every thing I’ve ever wanted to be. He sweet character of helping and caring for others above herself is what made he so special to me. I will miss all the characters from the beginning of the show.
Of all the wives, only two are returning for the new season. This new season seems to capture the true nature of what I see here in the Army. Living on Post is nothing like anything you can describe to another person that has never been in services. I remember when I was planning our move to our first duty station, I thought life was going to be like that which I saw in the show. I thought I would have really good friends that where supportive of each other. I was so excited to work with the FRG.
I quickly discovered, that was TV and this is real life. I think the new season will show a more true character of what living on Post is like for so many women. (not sure I will like it) I loved having the fantasy of what I wanted it to be here. The new season has a mixtures of personality, similar to what you find on real Army installation This can be good and bad. I think it will be filled with all the drama that many of us wish did not exist on Post.
No matter what, it looks like they are off to a good start with the new season, and I am very excited to watch it unfold. ArmyWives is a very dear show to me and I hope that tonight was not an sign of how they will rush through the show. I did not like that it seemed more important to rush by announcing that the show The Client List premieres in 30 minuets. I wanted to enjoy armywives. It would helped if they had allow the show to unfold over a period of episodes. One minuet they announced the death of Claudia joy and the next minuet they showed her memorial. It did not allow her friends to really accept the death. It just felt rushed. I hope they slow things down and allow the show to move as wonderful book you read and you can’t wait to turn the page but you dare not for fear you will miss something.
If you missed the show tonight you can watch it on Lifetime TV. Don’t miss next week show on Sunday, March 17 at 9pm. Until next week…….
Catastrophic thinking patterns……are women more prone to this type of thinking than men? If so why?
My husband and I had a discussion this morning. He said to me that he use to be very social before he met me. He said that he stop socializing with people for fear of what I would say or think about his interaction with that person. I can’t say this was good news for me to hear. My response to him was to stop talking. I told him how could I continue knowing that he felt I was the worst thing that ever happen to him. As you can see, this thinking was catastrophic to our conversation.
Did he say I was the worst thing that ever happen to him?
Did I accept the true of what he said about me?
Was I blaming myself for the actions he is taking?
I’ve apologized to my husband many times for causing this feeling in him. I also asked him why is it that he has not acknowledged that he created this situation in the first place.
My husband is a huge fan of mushrooms…….
I, however, can do without them.
Last night I wanted to make him something he would enjoy. I often have these day-dreams of things to cook. I make him some stuffed Portobello mushrooms. Here is what I did:
I chopped up 1 large onion, two or three cloves of garlic, half of yellow, red, and green pepper and saute all that in 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Cook this on med/low heat
I then added some Gimme Lean Sausage and cooked it until it was brown. (the link will show you what it looks like at the store if you have never worked with it before)
I added some salt, pepper, and a little cumin to taste and then some tomatoes just as I turned off the heat.
I then gutted one of the mushrooms sprayed the pan with cooking spray (olive oil) and butter and coated the mushrooms with a little oil
I then stuffed the mushrooms with the veggie meat mixture, you can put as much as you like
I then topped it with cheese. Use what ever cheese you like best. Bake it on 350 for about 20 minutes or until the cheese is melted.
Then serve…..He loved it and ate them both. hahahahahaha
I spend a lot of my time studying. It seems all I really have time for most days. I go to class, study, go to another class, study, study while I eat, study, study, study, and sleep……Start all over…..
One of the best place for me to study is the library at school. I have a place I go to most.
Then I love to just have my coffee and…….hahahaha
Sometimes when I am outside I like to walk and read my books…..gota be careful that I don’t walk into someone, hahahahaha
Another thing I like is how beautiful my school looks this time of year.
So at the end of the day, when I’m not home I study at school.
It helps when the parking lot is not full, hahahahahaha
Today I wanted to try something that I saw on Forbiddenriceblog.com. She posted a drink that really looked good to me but I wanted to give it my own twist. So I did.
Today I make a drink with whole oats, almond milk, strawberries and blueberries, wheat germ almonds, bananas, strawberry yogurt, small piece of lemon, I think that was all. hahahaha
I did not use the peanut butter.
It really taste good. I made enough to have 4 8oz glasses. After the first two, I was very full. I will take the rest with me to school and have it through out the day. Give this drink a try and add your own twist to it, there is no right or wrong way to make it.
I simply love baking. It is one of the most relaxing things I do, other than taking a nice bubble bath. awwwwwwww I don’t think there is a better smell in the house than the smell of bread baking.
So, today, I’m making one of my husband favorites breads. I’m also getting ready for a bake sale I will be hosting on the 15th of this month.
Here is what you need. * remember to preheat the oven at 350*
- 3 cups all purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 3/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 3 eggs
- 1 3/4 cups sugar
- 1 cup olive oil
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 2 to 3 cups coarsely grated zucchini
- 1 can (8oz) crushed pineapple, drained
- 1 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
- 1 cup golden raisins (optional)
Chopin the Zucchini
I like to chop my Zucchini in the blender it is easier.
Mixing the eggs, sugar and vanilla
This will look a little foamy.
Adding the Zucchini
Because I use my blender, mine is a little more watery. But it will still cook just fine.
All the dry ingredients: flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg
I mix all the dry ingredients at the beginning. This make it easy.
Adding the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients
Adding the pineapples (this is optional) I also add the nuts and raisins
Folding in the nuts
In the pan it goes……
